4 x Seasonal nursery workers – Part time/full time hours available

Please note the nurseries are open Monday - Thursday 8am - 4.30pm, Friday 8am - 3.30pm

  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Potting, weeding, pruning, watering and looking after our hardy nursery stock

    • Assist with other tasks on the nursery when required e.g. unloading lorries

  • MUST HAVE

    • Due to the nature of the sites the employee must have their own transport to work

    • Must be keen to work outdoors in all weathers

    • Must be able to speak good English

  • DESIRABLE

    • Previous experience of nursery work is desirable but not essential. Full training will be given.

    • Assist with other tasks on the nursery when required e.g. unloading lorries

  • Start mid February/March – end of September 2019.

  • Based at our Exbury (SO45 1AZ) and Beckheath (SO41 5SR) nurseries. The employee may be required to move around these and our Beaulieu site during the employment period.

  • Hours can be flexible to suit and will be agreed in advance

  • Rate of Pay: Above minimum TBC

1 x Permanent Despatch team member – Full time hours available

  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • working with despatch team to prepare and pick plant orders for our wholesale customers.

    • unloading lorries and checking off stock

    • maintain high standard of plant quality on orders despatched

    • work in an efficient and effective way to meet deadlines with an excellent attention to detail

    • out of peak season the job would require working in other areas of the nursery and could include potting, weeding, watering, pruning, bed work and any other job that is asked

  • MUST HAVE

    • Must be keen to work outdoors in all weathers

    • Must be able to speak and read good English

    • Due to the nature of the sites, employee must have own transport to work

  • DESIRABLE

    • A keen interest in plants in particular perennials, but is not essential

    • Previous experience of nursery work is desirable but not essential. Full training will be given

  • Start in February 2019

  • Based at Beckheath Nursery, East End, Lymington. SO41 5SR

  • Full time hours – Monday – Thursday 8am – 4.30pm, Friday 8am – 3.30pm. Overtime may be required in Spring

  • No holiday to be taken March – early June

  • Rate of Pay:  Above minimum TBC                                 Overtime: Time and half.

 

1 x Seasonal Driver – Full time hours + overtime

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver danish trolleys of plants to our customers using our own 7.5 tonne lorries. This may include private addresses, public sites, estates, local authorities and garden centres

  • Plan route to deliver single deliveries or multi-drop in an efficient and economic way

  • To communicate with customers and staff any issues with deliveries in a timely manner

  • To look after vehicle and ensure any issues are reported promptly

    MUST HAVE

  • UK licence to drive 7.5 tonne lorry

  • Up to date CPC training

  • Previous experience of lorry deliveries

  • Good geographical knowledge of Southern England - up to Oxford, London, east to Brighton, west to Bristol

  • Be physically fit to unload lorry on own. Some heavy lifting may be required

  • Due to nature of the sites candidate must have own transport to work

  • Start – mid March – end June/mid July

  • No holiday to be taken during this period. Holiday will be paid at the end of the period

  • Based at Exbury, Hampshire SO45 1AZ

  • Early starts

  • Hours approx. 40 hours per week.
